Safe2Drive Traffic School Review

31st Jul,2020

Safe2Drive is one of the most popular traffic schools around, but like some providers, it has its share of good and bad.

In this Safe2Drive review, we’re discussing our experience with this traffic school, and determining whether it’s a worthy choice or not.

Pros

Cons

One of the things we like about Safe2Drive is that they offer a bunch of different courses. Since it’s not just about traffic school, this provider is like a one-stop-shop for drivers where they can enroll in the course they need.

Here are the options you have:

Traffic School and Defensive Driving

If you got yourself a traffic citation or a speeding ticket, this is the course you should take. While you have the choice to pay your fine or fight the ticket in court, going to traffic school is still the better route because you’ll be able to remove the ticket and the corresponding points from your record.

Safe2Drive offers traffic school and defensive driving courses that will keep your driving record clean, keep your insurance premiums down, and ultimately eliminate that ticket.

On the website, the course name varies because some states call it “Traffic School” while others call it “Defensive Driving”.

Auto Insurance Discount

Insurance companies may be able to give you a discount if you take a course like this [1]. The terms of the discount, like how much you can get and for how long, will largely depend on your insurer.

Furthermore, you should also ask what part of your insurance will this apply to, as some companies only offer a discount on the liability portion.

Whatever the case, Safe2Drive can help you save some money by lowering your insurance premiums. Just remember to call your insurer first to know the terms and if you’re eligible at all to take this course.

Driver Education

Safe2Drive also offers driver’s ed for newbie drivers who need to apply for a learner’s permit. This course is mandatory in many states. California, for instance, requires drivers 15 ½ to 17 ½ to take this course first before acquiring a learner’s permit.

Safe2Drive offers a more convenient alternative with their self-paced online course.

Mature Driver Improvement

For drivers 55 years old and above, you can take this course to get a discount on your insurance premiums. But aside from that, it’s a good way for you to brush up on motor vehicle laws, road safety, and defensive driving techniques.

How Does It Work?

When we registered for Safe2Drive’s traffic school course, the entire process was simple and easy. And in our belief, that’s the way it should be done by all providers. No hassle, no mess, just straightforward.

Easy To Pass was also notable in this regard.

As for the course itself, the material was well-outlined and well made. The course you take may have a different structure because it varies by state, but mostly, there are 10 different chapters you need to go through.

As many Safe2Drive reviews from students would say, the entire course does a good job at keeping things interesting with videos, animations, interactive games, and plain reading materials. In our experience, the variety was enough to maintain a good pace all throughout. The visuals made everything easy to understand.

At the end of each chapter, there’s a quiz you need to answer just to make sure you understood the course. You won’t be able to progress to the next section until you pass the quiz, but the questions are relatively easy so we don’t imagine having any problems with this at all.

But while the quizzes aren’t available in all states, there’s always a final exam at the very end of the course. You need to pass this to get your completion certificate, and if you fail, you can retake it once.

However, if you fail the retake, you do need to take the course all over again. We find that this scenario would be extremely rare though, because all the questions in the final exam were easy to answer.

Still, if it does happen to you, Safe2Drive allows you to take the course again for free, so you’re not paying for another course to pass. This practice is not unique as we’ve also seen this with our list of the cheapest online schools you can take.

After you’ve finished the coursework and passed the final, Safe2Drive will automatically send your completion to the DMV so you don’t need to file the paperwork yourself.

The time it would take to submit the completion won’t take as much as it did with Driver Ed To Go, though, so you won’t be scrambling for time.

FAQS

How long is Safe2Drive?

Safe2Drive Traffic School takes anywhere between 2 to 8 hours depending on the state. In California, for instance, you can breeze through the course faster because there are no course timers. But in other states, there are minimum hour requirements that you need to follow.

Note that it will still depend on the state you’re in and the course you take. For example, the driver’s education course may take up to 32 hours because that’s what your state requires. But for traffic school, it wouldn’t take that long.

Is Safe2Drive legit?

Yes, Safe2Drive is a legit traffic school. It’s DMV-approved and certified in most states, so you don’t have to worry about the court not accepting your completion.

Safe2Drive has almost 2 decades of experience. It’s not a newbie provider by any means, and the course quality and service they give reflects that.

Their customer support representatives are very helpful and responsive as well. When we contacted them, they were eager to resolve the issue and answer any concerns. The only catch is that they’re not available 24/7/365, which is how traffic schools like 2cool do it nowadays.

Another thing to note that Safe2Drive is not available in all states, so it’s best to check in with your court clerk’s office first before you sign up.

Safe2Drive Traffic School Review Conclusion

Overall, Safe2Drive is a legitimate traffic school provider that offers a variety of high-quality courses for every driver’s needs. It provides a seamless signup process, easy-to-answer tests, and responsive customer service.

Despite support being unavailable 24/7, Safe2Drive is still one of the best traffic schools we’ve gone through.
